Including a comprehensive description can help sell your event to potential participants whilst reducing the frequency of questions that may arise where information is missing or incomplete. An engaging opening paragraph and sufficient event information can make the difference between a completed/lost entry.

Sell Your Event
Highlight the Success of Earlier Events
Include any awards won.
Display reviews and or testimonials.
Promotions/Discounts
Highlight special offers or applicable promotions.
Is early bird (limited by time and/or capacity) or member pricing available?
Are entries discounted if booked in bulk?
Include details of any referral and/or loyalty schemes for which the event qualifies.
Event Description
Provide a summary of the event, highlighting interesting/scenic features on the route.
Include the location/area in which the event takes place and whether it is on private property, in a public area, or on closed roads.
Outline whether the route consists of a single loop, laps, an out-and-back or point-to-point, and warn of any difficult/hazardous terrain or a challenging elevation profile.
Charities/Sponsors/Partners
Ensure charities are added and donation options are enabled if intended to appear on the entry form.
Check any sponsor/partner requirements are in place (e.g., copy, logos, confirmation emails, promotions etc.).
Freebies
Is anything included in the entry fee?
Add details of free items such as drinks/snacks.
Additional Items/Services
Is event merchandise/memorabilia available?
Are parking, travel or accommodation options offered?
Where can they be purchased later if not offered/selected during initial registration?
Event Series
Is the event part of a series of similar events for all of which a participant can register, at a discounted fee and/or to receive free items?
Logistics
Equipment
Can participants expect to receive any equipment?
How do they obtain it - will it be sent to them, or should they collect on the day?
Is there a deadline after which equipment cannot be posted and must be collected?

When can participants expect to receive further communication prior to (or after) the event?

Will suitable medical cover be available for all disciplines?
